About BRMAD

A public agency dedicated to reducing mosquito-borne disease and nuisance across the Bear Lake region of southeastern Idaho.

Our Mission

The Bear River Mosquito Abatement District protects public health and quality of life by monitoring, reducing, and controlling mosquito populations using science-based, environmentally responsible methods.

Service Area

BRMAD serves Montpelier, Montpelier Canyon, Dingle, Wardboro, Bear Lake Hot Springs & Pegram. If you live or work in the district and encounter a mosquito issue, contact us for information.

Integrated Pest Management

Our goal is not to eliminate every mosquito, but to control them well enough to reduce disease risk and nuisance. We use an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program — surveillance, source reduction, larviciding, and targeted adulticiding — rather than blanketing the district with pesticide.

Governance

BRMAD is governed by a Board of Trustees that meets regularly and welcomes public participation. See the trustees and meetings pages for more information.
